The Center for Combating Disinformation immediately intervened in The Telegraph's report which claimed that President Erdoğan made statements that 'he would consider a possible attack on Iran or Lebanon as an attack on Turkey.' The newspaper removed the false news and also apologized.

The Communications Directorate's Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) intervened and debunked the false claims made by The Telegraph newspaper regarding Turkey's regional policies.

DMM INTERVENED IMMEDIATELY

Turkey's strategic communication channels have successfully debunked another widespread disinformation operation circulating in the international media. The Telegraph newspaper was forced to retract the false claims it made about Turkey's regional policies following the intervention of the Communications Directorate's Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM). The claims in question alleged that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had made statements that he would "consider a potential attack on Iran or Lebanon as an attack on Turkey" and that "Israel would be invaded by Turkey." This disinformation, circulated by Israel-backed social media accounts and various outlets, was quickly reported by the British newspaper The Telegraph, giving it an international dimension.

THE NEWSPAPER APOLOGIZED

Following the claims, the Communications Directorate's Center for Combating Disinformation swiftly took action, debunking the said statements and clearly demonstrating Turkey's stance, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, focused on peace, stability, tranquility, and security in the region. As a result of the Communications Directorate's determined and effective stance, the newspaper removed the false content from all its platforms. The editor who entered the content issued an apology via social media.

ISRAELI MEDIA COULD NO LONGER REMAIN INDIFFERENT TO THE TRUTH

Maariv, one of Israel's most influential media organs, was compelled to publish the Communications Directorate's rebuttal text and the factual information. This development once again showcased the success of Turkey's 'struggle for truth' against international disinformation operations. The Communications Directorate's result-oriented intervention not only succeeded in having the news removed but also confirmed that international media organizations need to use more cautious language in their reports about Turkey.
