The son, who was detained in Fethiye district of Muğla on the allegation of defrauding 57 people of 90 million liras by not delivering the houses to the rightful owners and selling the apartments to multiple individuals, was arrested, while his mother was released under judicial control in Nevşehir.

The son was arrested and the mother was released on judicial control in Fethiye district of Muğla, on the allegation that they did not deliver the houses they sold in Nevşehir to the rightful owners and defrauded approximately 90 million Turkish liras from 57 people by selling some apartments to multiple individuals. The Security Branch teams of Nevşehir Police Department initiated an investigation upon complaints regarding a construction company in the city, upon the instruction of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The police determined that the owner of the company, A.K.İ., and his mother, Y.İ., who is also a partner in the company, were in Fethiye district of Muğla. The mother and son, who were captured in the operation, were brought to Nevşehir. After completing the procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse after a medical examination. A.K.İ. was arrested by the duty judge, while Y.İ. was released on judicial control. Emel Çalışır, one of the victims, stated in a statement to journalists in front of the courthouse that they had purchased houses from the construction company in various locations. Çalışır said that they realized they were being deceived and filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office, stating, "We bought three houses. I couldn't live in any of them. I couldn't get the title deeds for two of them. We paid more than 2 million. The suspects are alleged to have started construction of residential buildings in various locations in the city, defrauding 57 people of approximately 90 million Turkish liras by selling the apartments under construction to multiple individuals, not delivering the sold apartments to the rightful owners, and attempting to escape abroad by sea from Fethiye using a rented car.
