CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel, addressing the crowd gathered in front of the TBMM Dikmen Gate, took aim at Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu without naming him. In his speech, Özel stated, "If you think you can hold a group meeting with certain crowds of a thousand people, the representatives of millions here will step in and ruin the entire game."

"You repelled the coup planned through the arms of the judiciary by the AK Party right in front of the gate of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. If it weren't for you, those who should not have even passed by the party's street at 7 a.m. on a Sunday morning at the family home would today be standing at the gate of the Parliament, coming as if they were guests of CHP.
I understand your discomfort, but let's establish this. Today you confronted them; I watched with my heart in my mouth. You showed that, with the decision of the judicial arms, those who were nowhere in the party suddenly appeared; you stood as a shield against them. Bravo to you.
If you think you can gather legitimacy from a thousand people with some assembled crowds, these courageous people will stand against that thousand and break the game. The Parliament Presidency imposed a ban today with a decision taken to prevent negative images inside. Your presence here, beyond just holding a group meeting, was exactly to protect the party's rights and the future of all of us."
