Özgür Özel: Devlet Bahçeli finally revealed what was on his mind.

The leader of the MHP, Devlet Bahçeli, reiterated his call for terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan during his party's group meeting today, while also calling for a constitutional amendment to allow President Erdoğan to run for office again.

ÖZEL RESPONDS TO BAHÇELİ'S WORDS

Bahçeli's words resonated widely in the public, and CHP leader Özgür Özel, who spoke at his party's meeting, also addressed this issue.

"TURKEY IS SHAKEN BY A AGENDA"

Özel stated, "Mr. Bahçeli first shook hands, then came to this adjacent room and invited Abdullah Öcalan to that podium in the Parliament, the podium where he speaks. He said, 'Let him come and make a call from this podium.' Since that day, Turkey has been shaken by an agenda. The call I made to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan last week was: 'Speak! Are you sharing Bahçeli's words or not, speak!' A few days after our call, Devlet Bahçeli embraced him with flattering words. This clarified that this project was prepared without any ideological differences, presented by Devlet Bahçeli, and that he embraced it after remaining silent for a certain period. Today, Mr. Bahçeli used the following expressions in his speech: 'Let him come to the Dem Group, let him take our podium.' He says, 'Let him benefit from the right to hope, I stand by my word, I insist on my proposal. As taboos are lifted, routines are broken, and the status quo is breached, it becomes much easier to progress from one point of agreement and consensus to another with small steps as people behave honestly towards each other and freely express what they think.' And essentially, he reveals the secret he has kept throughout his life.

There is no friendship issue, no friend issue in this. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has a post issue. He does not want to give up his post. So much so that, just so that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who once said, 'You can't find salt in honey. You will never be president,' can run again and be elected again, he is talking about changing the constitution and, if necessary, even bringing Abdullah Öcalan to the Parliament. This is sincerity. In the end, I will make an important call on this matter. However, I must emphasize that our party acknowledges the existence of the Kurdish issue, that the address for its solution is the Parliament, and that this can only be achieved through social consensus, without excluding any party or group, and this is my non-negotiable golden standard, my red line. We will solve this issue without doing anything that we cannot face the families of martyrs, their children, spouses, and our veterans. Of course, let’s be aware that this process is full of traps," he stated.
