Actress Pelin Batu, who often faces criticism for naming her son "Rafael" in 2018, responded harshly by saying, "We will name our child whatever we want. We don't need patriotism lessons from those who sell their country."

Actress and writer Pelin Batu married heart surgeon Macit Bitargil in 2018 and gave birth to their son Rafael in the same year. The actress, who has been criticized for the name she gave to her son for years, exploded.

Pelin Batu, who occasionally comes to the agenda because of the name she gave to her son, responded to the criticisms in a post on her X account. Batu, who said that she gave her son the name of a painter she loves, used the following expressions: "Since our son was born, his name has been a stupid polemic topic. 1. It's none of your business, we can give him any name we want. 2. Rafael is the name of a painter I love and the healing angel in all monotheistic religions. 3. We don't need patriotism lessons from those who sell their country every day."
