In Erzurum, Salih Aybas shot and killed Nermin Tirit, whom he was chasing in the middle of the street, and then committed suicide. It was reported that Aybas had been imprisoned two years ago due to actions against Tirit and was released on October 22.

On October 22, Salih Aybas, who was released from prison in Erzurum, shot and killed Nermin Tirit in the middle of the street with a gun in the morning hours, and then took his own life with the same weapon. It was revealed that Aybas had been arrested two years ago for acts of violence against Tirit and had only been released 10 days prior.

The incident occurred in the morning hours in the Ömer Nasuhi Bilmen neighborhood of the Yakutiye district. According to allegations, Salih Aybas began to chase Nermin Tirit, whom he had been following for a while, in the middle of the street. Tirit was shot and killed by Aybas with a gun while trying to seek refuge in the garden of her residential complex. Aybas then committed suicide with the same weapon.

It was learned that Nermin Tirit worked as a cleaning staff at Erzurum Technical University. The suspect Salih Aybas was found to have been arrested in 2023 for violence, threats, and attempted murder against Tirit, and after spending approximately two years in prison, he was released on October 22.

The lifeless bodies of Tirit and Aybas were taken to the morgue of the Erzurum Forensic Medicine Institution after the investigation at the scene. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
