ACTION IS BEING TAKEN AGAINST EXORBITANT INCREASES IN PROPERTY TAX
President Erdoğan announced that they will soon present the regulation to prevent exorbitant increases in property tax in 2026 to the Parliament.
After this regulation, which drew public reaction, President Erdoğan shared the good news at the AK Party Expanded Provincial Chairmen's meeting. Erdoğan stated, "Complaints are coming regarding property tax. Especially exorbitant increases are being made in CHP municipalities. An unfair burden is being placed on our citizens. This is unacceptable. It is inconceivable for us to remain silent about increases that go overboard. Formulas to meet the demands have been discussed. We will present our solution proposal to the discretion of the Parliament in the coming days."
AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler made a statement regarding the work, saying, "There should be a balance in the increase rate of land value, which is the basis for property tax, and the increase rate based on value, in a way that creates different evaluations within the same neighborhood in the same district. This needs to be created in balance. Work is ongoing to ensure that municipalities do not suffer a loss of income while also providing a fair increase rate for citizens."
