According to a statement from the Presidency's Communication Directorate, the discussions focused on the accident investigation efforts and recent developments regarding the military cargo plane that crashed in Georgia, which resulted in the martyrdom of 2 of our soldiers. Erdoğan thanked Kavelaşvili for the cooperation shown by Georgia in the ongoing efforts. President Kavelaşvili also conveyed his condolences to President Erdoğan for the martyrs.
FIRST REPORT RELEASED: TECHNICAL MALFUNCTION SUSPECTED
The first report regarding the crash of the cargo plane has also been released. The remains of our esteemed martyrs will be brought to our country with our A-400M plane, which took our search and rescue and accident investigation team to Georgia. We thank the Georgian authorities for mobilizing all their resources and providing us support from the very first moment in the wreckage search and rescue efforts. GEORGIA: THE PLANE DID NOT SEND ANY EMERGENCY SIGNAL
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the military transport plane belonging to the Turkish Air Force crashed in the Signagi region, 5 kilometers from the Azerbaijan border, and an investigation has been initiated regarding the accident.
