The lifeless body of 75-year-old truck driver Ahmet Şahin, who was trapped under the collapse that occurred on November 5 at a quarry in the Fatsa district of Ordu, has been recovered.
On November 5th, a large mass slid down the slope around 4:30 PM after a blast conducted as part of routine operations at the quarry owned by Demirtan İnşaat located in Sefaköy, approximately 7 kilometers away from the center of Fatsa in Ordu.
2 WORKERS TRAPPED UNDER THE COLLAPSE
Excavator operator Burak Kilci and truck driver Ahmet Şahin were trapped under the rubble along with their vehicles. As a result of the search and rescue operations initiated by teams with 20 construction machines in the area, Burak Kilci's lifeless body was reached after 5 hours following the collapse.
HIS LIFLESS BODY WAS FOUND A WEEK LATER
Due to the riskiness of the area, the operations were paused, and as a result, Ahmet Şahin's (75) lifeless body was reached approximately a week later.
2 PEOPLE HAD BEEN ARRESTED
Following the incident, within the scope of the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Fatsa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, gendarmerie teams detained the company owner Osman D., responsible manager Erdi Temel Ö., mining engineer A.A., occupational safety expert K.U., and detonator R.A.E. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects Osman D. and Erdi Temel Ö. were arrested and sent to prison for the crime of 'manslaughter with conscious negligence', while A.A., K.U., and R.A.E. were released after their interrogation by the prosecutor's office.
