President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. During the meeting, the relations between the two countries as well as regional and global developments were discussed.
EMPHASIS ON BILATERAL RELATIONS AND SOLIDARITY
According to a statement made by the Presidency's Communication Directorate, President Erdoğan stated that the relations between Turkey and Spain continue to strengthen in many areas, especially in defense. Erdoğan expressed that the solidarity between the two countries is positively received by the peoples and emphasized the goal of advancing the relations further.
MESSAGE ON IRAN AND REGIONAL TENSION
The developments in the Middle East were also addressed during the meeting. President Erdoğan stated that it is not right for Iran to be targeted and dragged into total destruction, while also criticizing some of Iran's positions in the region. Erdoğan expressed that all parties need to act with common sense for lasting peace in the region. He stated that everyone with a conscience should embrace peace and focus on diplomacy.
“ISRAEL'S DISREGARD FOR LAW MUST BE STOPPED”
Erdoğan also drew attention to Israel's actions in various regions, especially in Gaza. He stated that if this situation is not prevented, it will be difficult for the region to achieve peace, and expressed that the international community needs to take a more active role.
CALL FOR DIPLOMACY FOR THE RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR
President Erdoğan pointed out the importance of revitalizing negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war. He expressed that the international community should provide stronger support for peace-oriented initiatives and emphasized the importance of diplomacy.
