After her lawyer, who was unable to reach her, reported the situation, fire, police, and medical teams arrived at the scene and determined that Başerer was lying motionless. Following a check by the medical teams, it was confirmed that Başerer had passed away. Her body was taken to the Zincirlikuyu Funeral Home.
