An indictment has been prepared against the prosecutor who injured a female judge serving at the Istanbul Regional Court of Appeals with a weapon, seeking a prison sentence of 20 years and 2 months to 42 years and 3 months. The indictment also stated that the suspect attempted to distance the victim from Istanbul through threats and pressure, fearing that their relationship would be revealed. TRIED TO DISTANCE HER FROM ISTANBUL

In the indictment prepared as a result of the investigation, it was recorded that the emotional closeness between the complainant A.K. and the suspect M.Ç.K. began in the middle of 2023 and progressed over time, but they separated after a while.

It was stated in the indictment that the suspect M.Ç.K. thought that the revelation of his relationship with the complainant and the events between them would seriously and negatively affect his professional career and social life, and due to the fact that the complainant and his parents lived in the same site, he decided that the only way out was for the complainant to request a transfer to another city and move away, and he began to pressure her in this direction with increasing intensity.

THREATENED WITH WEAPON PHOTOS

It was stated in the indictment that the suspect threatened the complainant A.K. by going to her office in the courthouse from time to time, and most often by calling or sending messages, and sending photos and visuals of weapons, causing serious unrest for the complainant and making her worry about her safety.

In the indictment, it was explained that despite the complainant's efforts to block him from all communication channels, the suspect continued his threats by making calls from hidden numbers or writing expressions in the transaction explanations of bank receipts.

"CREATED FAKE PROFILES"

In the indictment, it was stated that the suspect M.Ç.K. created numerous profile statements that would insult the honor, dignity, and reputation of the complainant through fake accounts with the complainant's profile in order to intimidate and break her resistance, and that he sent personal data such as identification numbers, parents' names, and degrees of kinship belonging to the complainant and her family with the message "How is this lineage?" However, despite all these pressures, threats, and intimidation attempts, he was unable to make the complainant leave Istanbul.

"DID NOT LEAVE THE ROOM DESPITE THE COMPLAINANT'S PERSISTENT REQUEST TO GO OUT"

In the indictment, it was expressed that the suspect M.Ç.K. went to the complainant A.K.'s office in the courthouse on January 13, intending to warn her one last time when he did not receive an answer to his calls, and despite the complainant's persistent request to go outside, he did not leave the room.

It was recorded in the indictment that the suspect M.Ç.K. drew the gun he was carrying and pointed it at the complainant's face but then put it back in its place, and at the moment when the witness Yakup Karadağ was also present in the room, upon the complainant's request for help from the witness, he drew his gun again and fired.

In the indictment, it was emphasized that the suspect M.Ç.K. injured the complainant in a vital body area and that the second shot he fired with the intent to hit the complainant did not achieve its purpose due to the effective intervention of the intervening witness.

PRISON SENTENCE OF UP TO 42 YEARS SOUGHT

In the indictment, it was requested that the suspect M.Ç.K. be sentenced to imprisonment of 20 years and 2 months to 42 years and 3 months for the crimes of "attempted murder against a woman", "violating workplace immunity by using coercion and threats", "threatening with a weapon in a serial manner", "illegally obtaining personal data", and "stalking". The prepared indictment was sent to the Heavy Penal Court for evaluation.
