The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has added 64 new products to the list of counterfeit and adulterated food products. The announced list notably includes frequently consumed items such as minced meat, honey, sausage, olive oil, and yogurt.
13 PRODUCTS POSE A HEALTH RISK
The ministry continues to share information about companies that engage in counterfeiting and adulteration with the public via the website "guvenilirgida.tarimorman.gov.tr". The site features products and companies under the headings "Foods That Will Endanger Health" and "Counterfeit and Adulterated Foods". With the latest update, a total of 64 new products have been added to the list, 13 of which are of a nature that poses a health risk.
OFFAL IN SAUSAGE, PROHIBITED DYE IN TEA
Serious irregularities were detected in some products as a result of inspections. It was found that a product sold by a brand labeled as "beef sausage" contained offal, and a product sold by a company under the name "black tea" was found to contain a dye substance prohibited for use in food.
ONLY UNGULATE MEAT DETECTED IN THE KITCHEN
One of the notable findings on the list was from an inspection conducted at a kitchen belonging to the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. The inspection revealed that ungulate meat was found in a meat roasting product.
