Russian President Vladimir Putin held a press conference after the end of his visit to China.
"I AM READY TO MEET WITH ZELENSKY"
In his evaluations regarding the Ukraine War, Putin stated that he is ready to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Putin said, "Considering the current U.S. administration's call, a peaceful solution may be possible; otherwise, the conflict will have to be resolved militarily. If preparations are well made, I am also ready to meet with Zelensky. There is light at the end of the tunnel."
HE SET ONE CONDITION
However, Putin also set a condition for the meeting. The Russian leader said, "If Zelensky is ready, he should come to Moscow, and the meeting should take place."
"UKRAINE HAS THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE BUT…"
Reiterating their opposition to Ukraine's NATO membership, Putin also gave the green light for Kiev's membership in the European Union (EU). Putin stated, "We have always opposed Ukraine's accession to NATO, but we have never questioned its EU membership. Ukraine has the right to choose its own security system, but this should not be to Russia's detriment."
"KIEV'S RESERVES ARE GRADUALLY DECREASING"
Pointing out that Kiev's reserve resources and military strength are wearing down, Putin said, "Ukraine's reserves are gradually decreasing, and the proportion of its combat-ready units is only at 47-48 percent. This is a critical threshold."
CHINA VISIT
On the other hand, Putin stated that his visit to China was 'positive and beneficial' and mentioned that they are working to reach an agreement on the 'Siberia 2 pipeline,' which has been discussed for years. Noting that the demand for energy has increased globally, including in China, Putin added, "Reaching an agreement with China will be mutually beneficial."
