SNOWFALL IS EFFECTIVE IN RIZE
Following the warnings from the meteorology, snowfall has been effective in Rize, while the Provincial Special Administration teams are working with heavy machinery on the roads closed by snow in high areas to prevent villagers migrating to plateaus from facing hardships. The teams are trying to clear the snow in Balıklı Plateau, which is 2,400 meters above sea level, where the snow depth has exceeded 5 meters in some areas due to the avalanche. Operator Osman Dedecan stated, "The work is intense and tough. There is a lot of snow in the high areas due to the avalanche."
