PYD leader Salih Muslim: We did not agree at the instruction of the USA, we have no demand for autonomy.

Salih Muslim, one of the leaders of the terrorist organization SDG, stated, "We have been in talks with the Shara government for a long time. We did not come to the table at the direction or instruction of the U.S. or any other country. We will not allow anyone to interfere with our decisions." Muslim, who noted that there are no demands for autonomy in Syria, said, "The Turks are a neighboring and friendly nation to us. We are not seeking a separate state."

While the echoes of the 8-point agreement signed between Syrian President Ahmed Shara and the terrorist organization PKK/YPG leader 'Mazlum Kobani', code-named Ferhat Abdi Şahin, continue, Salih Muslim, one of the SDG executives, made noteworthy statements to Türkiye Gazetesi.

"WE DO NOT RELY MUCH ON THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION"

Muslim stated, "We have been in talks with the Shara government for a long time. We did not sit at the table under the guidance or instruction of the US or any other country. We do not allow anyone to interfere with our internal structure and final decisions. A decision to 'withdraw' from northern and eastern Syria may come tomorrow. We are not making our plans based on the presence of the US or the coalition. Frankly, we do not rely much on the Trump administration. However, this does not mean that we do not consult with our friends on anything," he expressed.

"THE 8 AGREED POINTS ARE DEFINITELY CORRECT"

Describing the current situation as "consistent and parallel to Öcalan's call," Muslim stated, "We are hopeful about the process. Commissions will be established shortly, and we will move to the phase of integrating oil fields, customs, and armed forces. We will adhere to the agreement," he said. The 8 points announced in Damascus have been interpreted differently, especially by the PKK-YPG side. Muslim, a member of the PYD Presidential Council and former president, said, "The 8 agreed points are definitely correct. Speculations made on this issue should not be taken into account."

"TURKS ARE A NEIGHBORING AND FRIENDLY NATION TO US"

Muslim characterized Turkey's move through Öcalan as "a development that will change history," stating, "First of all, the Middle Eastern equation will be strongly affected by this peace process. We do not believe that hostility towards Turkey will lead to any progress. Turks are a neighboring and friendly nation to us. We are not pursuing a separate state. We took this step to exist within the framework of democratic participation in Syria. We want to live as part of the Turkish and Syrian peoples and within the brotherhood of law. We do not have a demand for autonomy in Syria. We do not present any political preconditions. We want a fair administration based on equality," he said.

THE 8 POINTS OF THE AGREEMENT

The agreement signed between the Damascus administration and the SDG included 8 points. Here are these points:

1. Ensuring the representation and political participation rights of all Syrians, regardless of their religious or ethnic background, based on merit.

2. Recognizing the Kurdish community as an inseparable part of Syria and guaranteeing their constitutional rights.

3. A ceasefire across all Syrian territories.

4. Integrating all civil and military institutions in northeastern Syria, including border crossings, airports, and oil and gas fields, under state administration.

5. Ensuring that all displaced Syrians return to their hometowns under state protection.

6. Supporting Syria's fight against all threats to the remnants of Assad and its security and unity.

7. Rejecting calls for division, hate speech, and attempts to create discord.

8. Implementation committees will work to put the agreement into effect by the end of the year.
