Gülcihan D, who fled from her abusive husband in Kağıthane and took refuge in a shelter, began living with Mekki Kahraman, whom she met in the hospital. However, Gülcihan D allegedly told Kahraman that she was with someone else and ended their relationship. When Kahraman came to the house to collect his belongings, he was attacked by Gülcihan D's friend, Ömer D. Ömer D assaulted Kahraman and stole his identity.
A terrifying incident occurred on February 22 at around 10:00 PM in a house located in the Harmantepe neighborhood of the Kağıthane district in Istanbul. According to the information obtained; Mekki Kahraman (35), a married father of three, met Gülcihan D. (30), a married mother of two, who had previously fled from her abusive husband and settled in a shelter. The two exchanged phone numbers and began to meet during this time. After a while, Kahraman and Gülcihan D. agreed to go to a real estate agent. They rented a house in the neighborhood and started living together.
ATTACKED AS SOON AS HE ENTERED THE HOUSE About three months later, Gülcihan D. allegedly pressured Kahraman to divorce her husband. During an argument, Gülcihan D. claimed that she had someone else in her life and expressed her desire to break up with Kahraman. Following this, Kahraman left the house and returned the next day to collect his belongings. As Kahraman entered the apartment, a person who followed him from behind began to assault him. The assailant, after beating Kahraman, also stole his identity and recorded the incident.
ATTACKER RELEASED After the incident, Mekki Kahraman obtained a medical report from the hospital and went to the police to file a complaint. The police teams, who initiated an investigation, identified the person who assaulted and robbed Kahraman as Ömer D. (31). In ongoing operations, Ömer D. was detained by the police. After giving his statement at the police station, Ömer D. was charged with "Intentional injury," "Deprivation of liberty," and "Robbery." Ömer D. was brought to court and was released under judicial control.
Ömer D. BOTH FILED COMPLAINTS AGAINST EACH OTHER On the other hand, it was learned that Gülcihan D. also filed a complaint against Mekki Kahraman. After giving his statement at the police regarding "Intentional injury" and "Violation of the inviolability of the home," Mekki Kahraman was released by the prosecutor's decision. It was also learned that Mekki Kahraman was dismissed from the hospital where he worked due to the incident, and he was victimized because of this. Additionally, it was reported that Mekki Kahraman also filed a criminal complaint against Ömer D. and Gülcihan D. for the assault.
"I FAINTED, AND WHEN I CAME TO, HE STARTED HITTING ME AGAIN" Describing the horror he experienced, Mekki Kahraman said, "I met her at the hospital where I work. We exchanged our numbers. The process turned into a relationship. This woman was staying in a women's shelter. We met and went out together. She told me, 'I want to leave the women's shelter and rent a house.' We went and rented our house from a real estate agent. The rental contract was already in my name. We were together for 2-3 months like this. When she said she would leave me, I said, 'Okay.' I said, 'At least let me come and get my belongings.' I had also told her that I would come. As soon as I entered through the door, I closed the door, and when I was about to open the inner door, suddenly the outer door opened. This person came and assaulted me both inside and outside. At that moment, I hit my head on the curb. I fainted for about 10-15 seconds. When I came to, he started hitting me again. Then he recorded my video and took my identity. In other words, he robbed me," he said.
"I LOST MY JOB BECAUSE OF THE INCIDENT" Mekki Kahraman stated, "The next day, I went to the hospital and obtained a medical report. I went to the real estate agent and terminated the contract. Then I went to the police station and filed a complaint against the person who assaulted me. Later, this person was brought to the police station and said, 'I do not know either this gentleman or this lady.' I said, 'He both assaulted me, recorded my video, and took my identity.' After that, I filed a criminal complaint. The person was detained but was released in court. I am complaining about both of them. I am the victim; I have never shown violence against women. 'She has filed a complaint against me for harassment and assault, but that never happened. The rental contract is in my name, and I will vacate the house as soon as possible. That person is walking around freely. Because of the incident, I lost my job. Therefore, I have been victimized. I want them to be punished. Everything was done by the other party. They made comments about the video without knowing the truth. I want the necessary actions to be taken," he said.
