CHP Karabük Member of Parliament Cevdet Akay addressed Minister Şimşek in the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission during the budget discussions of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, holding photos of Ziraat Bankası's logo. Akay said, "There is a 1 billion lira difference between the two photos. How is there a 1 billion lira difference? One is the old emblem, and the other is the new one. Only the shape of the 'a' letters has changed. A sign change is being made at approximately 2,000 branches, which costs 954 million." THERE IS A STATEMENT FROM THE BANKWhile Akay's words in the Parliament resonated widely in the public, Ziraat Bankası stated that the claims regarding "logo change" and "a loan used by a company" in some press releases and social media platforms do not reflect the truth. According to the bank's statement, the logo has been enlarged with a clearer and more modern design to adapt to innovations, thus ensuring that it can be read more easily on branch signs and other media. "ONLY 24 SIGN CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE"In the statement, it was expressed that the use of branch signs and all written and visual materials featuring the current logo continues, and the following was noted: "The change process is planned according to the renovation needs of our branches and the economic lifespan of the materials in question. So far, only 24 sign changes have been made as part of renovations due to necessity. The future change program will be implemented only after the expiration of the usage lifespans of areas and materials where the logo is used, replacing the old logo with the new one, and there is absolutely no program to change all printed materials at once, whether they are our branch signs or our logo." "WE DO NOT HAVE A DIFFERENT APPLICATION FROM THE SECTOR"For this reason, no additional cost has been incurred by our Bank due to the logo change. The furnishing of our branches, the opening of new branches, relocation, necessary renovations due to earthquakes, and the completion of economic lifespans are the reasons for these changes. We do not have a different application from the sector or any business."
