HE WAS DETAINED
On the other hand, the suspect F.Ş. was detained on the charge of "Inciting Hatred and Hostility."
In a statement made by the governorship, it was noted that a study was initiated by the Provincial Police Department under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the insulting posts made on social media about Rojin Kabaiş, who lost her life in Van.
As a result of the investigations, it was reported that the person who made the relevant posts was identified as F.Ş. The statement included the following: "The suspect was caught on October 19, 2025, in the Eyyübiye district and was detained on the charge of 'inciting hatred and hostility or humiliation' in accordance with the instructions of the judicial authorities."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Rojin Kabaiş, a 21-year-old student of the Preschool Teaching Department at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, who had been missing since September 27, 2024, was found dead on October 15, 2024, on the shores of Lake Van in the Mollakasım neighborhood of the Tuşba district.
After the preliminary autopsy procedures at the Van Forensic Medicine Institute, samples taken from Kabaiş's body were sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute for the determination of the exact cause of death. Kabaiş's funeral was held on October 16 in Diyarbakır.
While the investigation is ongoing, the report prepared by the Biological Specialization Department of the Forensic Medicine Institute was included in the file on October 10. The shared report stated that DNA belonging to two different males was detected in the chest and vaginal area of Kabaiş.
