Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Sadettin Saran, who tested positive in a drug investigation and denied using drugs, underwent a retest at an independent laboratory. Saran was photographed while leaving a private laboratory in Şişli.
As part of the drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a report was prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institution regarding the suspects from whom blood and hair samples were taken. According to the report, the hair samples of Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Sadettin Saran tested positive for drugs.
HE UNDERWENT A RE-TEST
Saran, who made a statement on his social media account, said; "A formal request will be made to the prosecutorial office conducting the investigation for the re-examination of the aforementioned test at the Forensic Medicine Institution and for a repeat test to be conducted. Additionally, all relevant tests will be carried out as soon as possible at independent testing organizations with international accreditation, and the results will be made public." It was also learned that Saran visited a private laboratory in Şişli around noon today.
Here is Saran's statement;
"I HAVE NEVER USED IT IN MY LIFE"
In relation to the news that emerged in the public domain this morning, it has become necessary to inform the public. First and foremost, I want to clearly and unequivocally state that I have never used the substance that is claimed to have tested positive in the Forensic Medicine Institution test throughout my life. Let alone using it, I have never even seen the substance up close.
The allegations in this regard constitute an open smear campaign aimed at targeting me and damaging my personal rights and reputation, while also aiming to undermine the institutions I represent. In this process, I would like to clearly express that I am ready to provide any samples again immediately and without any hesitation.
"LET THE TEST BE RECONDUCTED"
In this context; a formal request will be made to the prosecutorial office conducting the investigation for the re-examination of the aforementioned test at the Forensic Medicine Institution and for a repeat test to be conducted. Additionally, all relevant tests will be carried out as quickly as possible at independent testing organizations with international accreditation, and the results will be made public. I want to emphasize once again, especially, that I have no reservations about the truth being revealed through scientific methods, in accordance with universal standards. Furthermore, the fact that information alleged to belong to a file under a confidentiality order has been published simultaneously and in a coordinated manner in certain media outlets from the early hours of the morning when the test result is claimed to have emerged is a serious situation that requires careful evaluation. I firmly believe that the truth will come out sooner or later; that the process will conclude fairly and transparently within the framework of the principles of a rule of law.
