During the January-October period, Sakarya set a historical record by achieving a total export of 5 billion 275 million 438 thousand dollars, ranking 7th in the export ranking among provinces, following Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Ankara, Izmir, and Gaziantep.
The automotive sector alone accounted for 88% of the city's exports. Sakarya, which hosts production facilities such as Toyota, TürkTraktör, and Otokar, contributed 4 billion 645 million 157 thousand dollars in foreign currency to the national economy through its exports in this field. Sakarya Set a Record in ExportsAccording to data from the Automotive Industry Association, 838,119 of the 1,162,178 vehicles produced in Turkey in the first 10 months of the year were sold abroad. Sakarya exported 171,072 vehicles, which corresponds to 74.5% of the 229,741 vehicles it produced. In other words, it sent 7 out of 10 vehicles abroad. Sakarya, which alone accounts for 19.9% of Turkey's vehicle production and 20.4% of its exports, continues to contribute to the national economy. 753 Vehicles Rolled Off the Production Line DailyIn Sakarya, a total of 229,741 vehicles were produced in 10 months, including 187,835 cars, 1,714 minibuses, 1,342 buses, 955 small trucks, 114 vans, and 37,781 tractors. Thus, 753 vehicles were rolled off the production line daily in the city. In production and exports, Toyota ranked first, TürkTraktör second, and Otokar third. Toyota produced 187,835 cars during the January-October period, of which 157,723 were sent abroad. During the same period, Otokar produced 4,125 vehicles consisting of buses, minibuses, vans, and small trucks, exporting 1,849 of them. TürkTraktör sold 11,500 of the 37,781 tractors it produced abroad.
