Kocaelispor's head coach Selçuk İnan spoke to the press before the Beşiktaş match. İnan expressed his sadness about the result of the Fenerbahçe match and also commented on Skriniar's gesture towards the fans, saying, "Skriniar's gesture is an act that crosses the boundaries of ethics. What he did is unacceptable. In our country, especially such actions are not well received at all."
In the 3rd match of the Ziraat Turkey Cup Group Stage, Kocaelispor will face Beşiktaş on Thursday at 18:00 at Kocaeli Stadium. The green-blacks, who are continuing their preparations at Körfez Brunga Facilities, had their head coach Selçuk İnan answer questions from the press before the training.
'IT WILL BE A DECISIVE MATCH'
Selçuk İnan stated, "We received an unwanted result against Fenerbahçe. We were the team closer to winning. We made the necessary evaluations after the match yesterday. We played well, fought hard, and lost in an unfortunate way. We are sad, but we need to move on. Because we have the Beşiktaş match. Our training started today. It is a very important match for us. We want to continue our path in the cup. It will be a decisive match. Beşiktaş has important players. A tough battle awaits us. We want to achieve an advantageous score at home, with our own fans. That is our goal. Hopefully, we will succeed," he said.
'THE ACTION BY SKRINIAR THAT CROSSED THE BOUNDARIES OF ETHICS'
Regarding the controversial positions in the Fenerbahçe match, Selçuk İnan said, "It is not possible for us to approve such actions. Especially the action made by Skriniar is an action that crosses the boundaries of ethics. What he did is unacceptable. In our country, such actions are not well received at all. I am speaking regardless of which team's jersey these players wear. It was disrespectful to do this in front of Kocaelispor fans, 35 thousand people, a large community, especially since it happened to us yesterday. Likewise, the action made by Alvarez was also provocative. I don't say much about the referees regarding the referee showing a yellow card to Karol and passing over Alvarez. They can make mistakes. We are used to the decisions they make on the field, whether in our favor or against us. Although it is mostly against us, I think the decisions made after the actions he took yesterday were disgraceful for the referees. The referees who caused this should be ashamed after watching the footage from the match," he stated.
