Hakan Altundal, a Beşiktaş enthusiast living in Bolu, has been recording every detail of the black-and-white team's matches since 1999, from the score to referee information, in his notebook. He has his own unique totems; he never wears a jersey while watching matches but never parts with his lucky ring, watch, and prayer beads. Altundal plans his entire life according to Beşiktaş's schedule.
Married and a father of two daughters, Hakan Altundal (47) has not missed a single match played by Beşiktaş since the 1999-2000 season. After each match, Altundal notes the score, referees, and details of the game in a special notebook by hand. Describing this as a "habit of note-taking" rather than a "disease," Altundal explained that he did not break the series even during his military service.
While serving in the military in İzmir Yeni Foça during 2002-2003, Altundal entrusted his notebook to his wife, stating that he had her write down the matches during that time. The fanatic fan, who noted "Gendarmerie Corporal Hakan Altundal" in his notebook, mentioned that he could not forget the goal they conceded from Diyarbakırspor and the championship they missed as a military memory.
Hakan Altundal, who continued the habit of note-taking that he started years ago in a small notebook, said, "This has become a passion, like a hobby. It's not a disease; I have a habit of note-taking. For example, I also write down things like how much we bought all the materials for the house, where we bought them from, who we bought them from, etc."
"I WRITE MY NOTES AFTER THE MATCH"
Expressing that he does not engage with anything while watching a match and is completely focused on the game, Altundal said, "I write my notes after the match. I definitely try not to write anything during the match. If we are losing, I sometimes write out of anger, but if we are not losing, I watch until the end. It has become like a totem. I write down the dates, the referees. I even have a wall calendar. I definitely note the match days on the wall calendar as well," he stated.
"I DON'T WEAR A JERSEY WHILE WATCHING MATCHES"
Stating that he has his own totems while watching matches, Altundal recorded the following:
"I have some totems. I definitely do not wear a jersey while watching a match. I have a ring, a watch, etc. I always wear them. I have a prayer beads and it is in my hand. I watch the match from the front. It is unheard of for me to sit back and watch a match comfortably. I do not use the ring, watch, and prayer beads anywhere else, only during the match. I have set a system for myself. I take notes on the order of play, teams, victories, defeats, draws, goals we conceded, goals we scored, points, etc."
HE HANDED OVER HIS NOTEBOOK TO HIS WIFE IN THE MILITARY
Hakan Altundal, who served as a gendarmerie corporal in İzmir Yeni Foça during 2002-2003, explained that he handed over the notebook to his wife to ensure it did not remain empty during that time. The fanatic fan noted that he signed that period with "Gendarmerie Corporal Hakan Altundal," stating that the format has never changed over the years.
Altundal stated that his worst memory from his military service was the goal they conceded in the match against Diyarbakırspor while heading towards the championship in Beşiktaş's 100th year.
Additionally, Altundal shared that he won a bet with a friend from Fenerbahçe about "Who won the first Super Cup?" thanks to his archive and treated him to ice cream.

Expressing his gratitude to his uncle Yavuz Altundal, who made him a Beşiktaş fan, Hakan Altundal emphasized that he places his team's match schedule at the center of his life. He stated that when the schedule is announced, he notes the match days on the wall calendar, saying:
"The dates when the matches will be played are clear, and I plan the day according to these dates. If the match is at 18:00, I try to be home at that time, I arrange my work accordingly. For example, I had to go to the futsal court at the time of a match. I couldn't say no to my friends. When I returned, I barely made it to the second half. Perhaps I can say that this is the first match I missed in a long time. As soon as the schedule is announced, I take my note here and tell my family, 'We are acting according to this date. According to the Beşiktaş match,' because I have nothing else. There is not much else I do that I enjoy besides futsal and the Beşiktaş match."
"THE CHAMPION IS CLEAR FOR ME"
Emphasizing that he does not withhold his support regardless of his team's performance, Hakan Altundal expressed that he has no tolerance for some provocations from rival team fans. Altundal stated, "We are not in a very good position anyway, but we did not give up. We did not give up that day, and we will not give up today," he said.
