In Esenler, a mother killed her 2-year-old baby by giving him thinner through a bottle. During her interrogation, the mother, who said, "My child was born out of wedlock. No one supported us. I fell into depression," was arrested, while the father was released under judicial control.
A chilling incident occurred in the Esenler district of Istanbul. Dilek Ç. (23), who resides in Kırıkkale, gave birth to an illegitimate child with her boyfriend Y.E. Afterward, Dilek Ç. came to Istanbul to stay with relatives and brutally murdered her baby.
SHE KILLED HER BABY WITH THINNER
On September 26, the mother, sitting in a park in Bağcılar, fed her baby, whom she named Emre, with thinner that she put in a baby bottle. She then went to her relatives' house in Esenler with the baby. When the baby fell ill at home, he was taken to a hospital in Fatih. The baby, who was treated in intensive care, lost his two-month battle for life yesterday.
'I WENT INTO A DEPRESSION'
Police teams detained the mother and father after the baby was taken to the hospital for chemical poisoning. In her interrogation, mother Dilek Ç. stated, "My child was born out of wedlock. No one supported him or me. I went into a depression. For this reason, I added thinner to the baby's bottle and made him drink it."
MOTHER ARRESTED, FATHER RELEASED
While the mother, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested and sent to prison, the father was released under judicial control.
