The aftermath of the red card decisions in the Beşiktaş-Fenerbahçe derby, which ended with a 3-2 victory for the yellow-blues, continues to resonate. Following Orkun Kökçü's dismissal, Sergen Yalçın was sent to the stands for making a strong protest to the referee, and sports commentator Sinan Engin delivered a harsh criticism. Engin said, "Sergen, how are you watching the match? Don't you see that the position was a red card, son? What are you protesting about?"
In the 11th week of the Super League, Beşiktaş lost 3-2 to Fenerbahçe at home in the derby. In the 26th minute of the match, Orkun Kökçü was sent off with a direct red card after a VAR review for a foul on Edson Alvarez. Beşiktaş's head coach Sergen Yalçın, who reacted strongly to the decision, also received a red card after his protests.
"CLEAR RED CARD! WHAT IS SERGEN PROTESTING?"
Speaking to AsistAnaliz after the match, Sinan Engin said, "Sergen, how are you watching the match, my son? Don't you see that the position is a red card? What is this protest about? Clear red card! There is no point in protesting the referee's decision and leaving your team alone," he said.
"SERGEN WILL RAISE BEŞIKTAŞ AGAIN"
Continuing his statements, Engin said, "Isn't it a shame for Beşiktaş's fans and president? The fans have run out of patience. The only person who can lift this team is Sergen Yalçın. He should continue in his position as long as he doesn't leave," he added.
"FENERBAHÇE WON BY COINCIDENCE"
Continuing his evaluations regarding the derby, Engin stated that Fenerbahçe's victory was a coincidence, saying, "Tedesco made mistakes too. Fenerbahçe urgently needs to acquire a striker; this won't work with En-Nesyri. Fenerbahçe won by coincidence today. Beşiktaş gave away the match they had, and the fans are fed up," he expressed.
