It was claimed that the accident occurred due to the thick smoke rising from tires set on fire by the roadside. The accident scene was also captured from the air.
BLACK SMOKE REDUCED VISIBILITY
In the accident that occurred in the Alancuma area of Erenler district on the Ankara direction of the highway, it was alleged that the thick black smoke rising from the tires burned under the bridge spread over the highway, significantly reducing visibility.
16 VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT
Drivers heading towards Ankara had difficulty seeing ahead due to the smoke. A total of 16 vehicles, including passenger buses, minibuses, and cars, were involved in the chain accident. As visibility suddenly decreased, some drivers slammed on the brakes. As a result of the vehicles coming from behind being unable to stop, consecutive accidents occurred.
LONG VEHICLE QUEUES FORMED
Long vehicle queues formed on the highway, and upon notification, a large number of health, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. The 13 injured individuals were taken to nearby hospitals after the first intervention by the health teams at the scene. It was learned that 4 of the injured were in serious condition.
ACCIDENT SCENE CAPTURED FROM THE AIR
Due to the accident, traffic on the Ankara direction of the Anatolian Highway was controlled for a while. The accident scene was also captured from the air. After the vehicles were removed and the road was cleared, transportation returned to normal, and an investigation was initiated regarding the matter.
