According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 7 kilometers at 08:52. The tremor was felt not only in Van but also in Ağrı, Bitlis, Iğdır, and Hakkari.

In a statement from AFAD, it was stated, "As of now, there is no negative situation following the 5.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Tuşba district of our Van province. Field scanning activities are ongoing." Authorities reported that teams are continuing their investigations in the area.
