The funeral of police officer Ahmet Derin, who committed suicide in Aksaray, was attacked while a convoy of 15 vehicles was returning to the city center after the burial. Attackers who got out of four different vehicles assaulted both the cars and the relatives of the police officer with sticks and stones. Four people injured in the attack were taken to hospitals.
According to information obtained on the Aksaray-Adana highway; the funeral of police officer Ahmet Derin, who committed suicide in Kırşehir, was brought to the cemetery in the Hamidiye neighborhood of Aksaray for burial.
ATTACK ON POLICE FUNERAL CONVOY
After the burial procedures, the convoy of about 15 vehicles was attacked while returning to the city center. Attackers who got out of 4 different vehicles assaulted both the cars and the relatives of the deceased police officer with sticks and stones. The moments of the assault, where individuals were punched, were recorded by a citizen's mobile phone camera, while other drivers passing by reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
4 PEOPLE INJURED
4 injured individuals were taken to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital by ambulances. After the attack, the assailants got into their vehicles and fled towards the city center. Police teams conducting an investigation at the scene initiated efforts to capture the fleeing individuals.

In the footage reflected in a citizen's mobile phone camera, moments of chaos around the vehicles in the convoy and the attackers assaulting citizens are visible. An investigation has been initiated by the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident.
