Israel allowed 16 members of the family of the late Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh to leave Gaza at Turkey's request. A total of 66 people listed for evacuation by Turkey left the region, including many Turkish citizens.
It has been claimed that Turkey demanded the safe departure of a group that includes 16 members of the family of the late Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh from the occupying Israel.
PERMISSION TO LEAVE GAZA
According to a report by Middle East Eye, Israel allowed at least 66 Palestinians and Turkish citizens to leave the Gaza Strip earlier this month at Turkey's request. The group included 16 members of the family of the deceased Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
4 Turkish citizens and about 40 relatives, including the spouses, sons, fathers, and mothers of Turkish citizens, were released.
DECISION MADE AFTER CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT
It was suggested that the decision was made after the ceasefire agreement reached in Gaza in the first week of October, in which Turkey took on a mediating role to help bring Hamas to the negotiating table.
