The trees on the land of singer Mehmet Suavi Saygan in the Bodrum district of Muğla were found to have been cut down. Teams determined that 29 trees that were supposed to be relocated according to the zoning plan provided by the Bodrum Municipality for construction activities in the area were not moved, 11 trees that were supposed to be protected were not protected, and a total of 40 trees were cut down only in the area where the villas were built. It was also determined that all trees in the area designated as a park, except for one olive tree, were cut down. In the inspection, an administrative fine of 4,724 TL was imposed per tree for illegally removing trees of naturally growing species in the forests. It was learned that regarding the trees cut down in the park area next to the villa land, a penal sanction would be applied by the Bodrum Municipality since it was within the municipality's borders. It was also reported that an investigation regarding the zoning and supervision of the mentioned villas is ongoing.
