The President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, announced that military aircraft belonging to Russia violated his country's airspace. In a post on his social media account, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda stated, "Russian military aircraft violated Lithuanian airspace. This is a clear violation of international law and Lithuania's territorial integrity."
LITHUANIA ISSUED A PROTEST NOTE
In a statement from the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, it was reported that Russian SU-30 and IL-78 aircraft entered Lithuanian airspace for 700 meters and remained in the airspace for 18 seconds. The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also summoned the Russian chargé d'affaires to the ministry and issued a protest note following the incident.
