With the new special consumption tax (ÖTV) regulation, the prices of electric vehicles are rapidly increasing, while Tesla has promised price protection to its customers with existing orders. Tesla stated that the base prices of customers who already have orders will be protected and that they will only be affected by the increase in ÖTV.
After the update of the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) rates for electric cars, Tesla made a decision that delighted current order holders.
In a statement made by the company, it was noted that the base prices of customers with existing orders would be preserved, and only the new SCT rate would be reflected in this price. This step was emphasized as a gesture of goodwill.
On the other hand, vehicle owners who have already received their invoices and paid the SCT will not be affected by this change. All developments regarding orders will continue to be shared with users through the Tesla application.
Tesla also stated that the website listings planned for July have been paused due to changes related to the SCT, and the new listing date will be announced as soon as possible.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Within the scope of the new regulation, the lowest SCT rate for electric cars has been increased from 10% to 25%. For plug-in hybrids, this rate is 45%, while for internal combustion engine vehicles, SCT rates have been increased from 70% to as high as 220%. For Pick-Up type vehicles, the rate has been increased from 4% to 50%. Additionally, a price increase was expected for Tesla Model Ys. The expected Tesla Model Y prices are as follows:
Tesla Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive is expected to increase from 1 million 866 thousand 203 lira to 2 million 120 thousand 684 lira,
Tesla Model Y Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive is expected to increase from 2 million 662 thousand 783 lira to 2 million 948 thousand 78 lira,
Tesla Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive is expected to increase from 3 million 465 thousand 581 lira to 3 million 790 thousand 772 lira.
