Thailand's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has been released on parole in the 8th month of his prison sentence for past corruption and abuse of power charges. The Bangkok press reported that a Thai court decided to grant parole to former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who had served 8 months of a one-year prison sentence. Shinawatra, released from a prison in Bangkok, will wear an electronic bracelet during the remaining 4 months of his sentence under parole conditions.
SENTENCED TO 1 YEAR IN PRISON IN SEPTEMBER 2025
Thailand's Supreme Court had sentenced Shinawatra to 1 year in prison in September 2025 for past corruption and abuse of power charges.
