In the investigation of "extortion through coercion" conducted against the Yahşihan Municipality of Kırıkkale, 5 people, including Yahşihan Mayor Ahmet Sungur, were arrested, while 3 suspects were released.
On September 19, as part of the investigation into 'extortion through coercion' initiated by the Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Yahşihan Municipality, Yahşihan Mayor Ahmet Sungur, along with Deputy Mayor Celal Yıldırım, former Deputy Mayor Osman Uluyurt, Construction Director Semih Aksakal, former Construction Director and businessman Ulaş Biçer, and municipal employees Y.N.Y. and M.S. were detained. After their procedures at the police station, 8 suspects were referred to the courthouse. While M.S. and S.G.Ç. were released after completing their statements at the prosecutor's office, 6 individuals were referred to the duty court with a request for arrest.
5 PEOPLE INCLUDING MAYOR SUNGUR ARRESTED
While one of the suspects, Y.N.S., was released under judicial control, Yahşihan Mayor Ahmet Sungur, Deputy Mayor Celal Yıldırım, former Deputy Mayor Osman Uluyurt, Construction Director Semih Aksakal, and former Construction Director and businessman Ulaş Biçer were arrested.
In operations conducted between May 27 and August 19, former Yahşihan Mayor Osman Türkyılmaz and 4 suspects were also arrested.
AK PARTY REFERRED SUNGUR TO DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE FOR EXPULSION
On the other hand, the AK Party Central Executive Board had decided to refer Ahmet Sungur to the Central Disciplinary Committee for expulsion from the party.
