The appeal against the detention of Ümit Özdağ, the leader of the Victory Party, who was arrested on January 21 on the charge of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility," has been rejected.

In a post made on Özdağ's social media account, it was reported that the appeal against his detention submitted to the Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of Peace has been rejected.
"I CONTINUE TO BE HELD HOSTAGE"
In the post made through Özdağ's X account, the following statements were included:
"On Thursday, January 30, regarding our appeal against my detention submitted to the Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of Peace, the higher court that will review the appeal has decided to 'reject the appeal and continue my detention.' I continue to be held hostage under the application of enemy criminal law for Öcalan. Long live the national, unitary, secular Republic of Turkey!"
Özdağ was arrested on charges of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility" in an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Ümit Özdağ was taken to the Marmara Closed Penal Institution in Silivri.
