ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC TO KEEP CASH AT HOME

According to a report in the local press, the Dutch Banking Association will discuss potential issues in payment infrastructure that could arise due to cyber attacks during a meeting after the Christmas holiday period, in a time of heightened tensions. Following the meeting, the Dutch Banking Association will advise the public for the first time to keep cash at home due to the increasing geopolitical tensions in the world. The meeting will also address how much cash and which denominations would be needed in case of a potential issue.

DEFENSE MINISTER ALSO GAVE THE SAME ADVICE

Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans previously stated that the Netherlands should be prepared for the Russian threat, and therefore, the public should always keep a certain amount of cash at home.
