After the removal of the CHP Istanbul provincial administration and the appointment of a trustee, the main opposition party is still in turmoil. Following the appointment of Gürsel Tekin as the trustee, the CHP provincial administration has also referred four newly appointed members to disciplinary action as a precaution.
CHP has provisionally referred 4 individuals appointed to the Istanbul provincial administration to disciplinary action.
CHP ISTANBUL ADMINISTRATION REMOVED FROM OFFICE
While CHP focused on the trial scheduled for September 15 regarding the request for the annulment of the 38th Ordinary Congress, a critical development occurred in Istanbul. The Istanbul 45th Civil Court, with its interim decision in the case filed for the annulment of the Istanbul Provincial Congress held on October 8, 2023, removed the provincial administration led by Özgür Çelik from office.
GÜRSEL TEKİN APPOINTED AS TRUSTEE
Following the court's decision, Gürsel Tekin, who announced his departure from CHP in 2024, was appointed as a trustee to the Istanbul Provincial Presidency. Gürsel Tekin, who was announced to be expelled from the party and was asked to provide a defense within 15 days, stated, "I have not yet received any notification, and no official document has reached me. Once I receive the notification, I will prepare my defense accordingly."
4 MORE INDIVIDUALS REFERRED TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Following Gürsel Tekin, 4 more individuals were marked for disciplinary action. The 4 individuals appointed to the CHP provincial administration alongside Gürsel Tekin were provisionally referred to disciplinary action.
