Jülide Sarıkaya, a member of the Victory Party's Central Administrative Board (GIK), who denied the statement regarding the indictment prepared against the party's General Chairman Ümit Özdağ, announced her resignation from the GIK.
Jülide Sarıkaya, a member of the Victory Party's Central Administrative Board (GIK), stated that she had met with Ümit Özdağ, who is detained in Silivri Prison, and Özdağ had said that the indictment was prepared.
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE DENIED
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had denied Sarıkaya's claim. In a statement made from Ümit Özdağ's social media account, it was stated, "One of our Central Administrative Board members has made a false statement to the public due to a lack of legal knowledge. An indictment is seen in the UYAP system when it is completed and accepted by the court. Based on the information provided by my lawyers, we believe that all information and documents have entered the investigation file, and therefore the investigation has been completed, and a decision needs to be made."
RESIGNED
Following these statements, Jülide Sarıkaya made a brief post on her social media account announcing her resignation from the GIK.
Expressing her apologies to the public and Victory Party members, especially to our General Chairman Mr. Ümit Özdağ, Sarıkaya stated, "I submit my resignation from the GIK to the discretion of our General Chairman Mr. Ümit Özdağ due to this mistake."
