With the arrival of July, private banks began to increase meal allowances for their employees. Following Garanti BBVA, QNB Türkiye, Akbank, and İş Bankası, TEB has also raised its daily meal support to 450 TL.
Steps to improve the rights of employees working in the banking sector continue unabated. As of July, many private banks have made interim adjustments in both salaries and social benefits.
Turkish Economy Bank (TEB) has increased the daily meal allowance it provides to its employees in this context. With the regulation effective from July 1, 2025, the meal support for TEB employees has been raised from 375 TL to 450 TL. Thus, a 20% increase has been made in the meal allowance at the bank.
TEB is not the only bank increasing the meal allowance. Akbank has raised the daily meal support it offers to its employees from 400 TL to 500 TL, resulting in a 25% increase. Garanti BBVA has also updated its meal assistance with the same rate and amount. The new application at both banks became effective as of July 1.
On the other hand, QNB Turkey has also increased the daily meal support it provides to its employees from 375 TL to 450 TL with a similar decision. The increase rate at this bank was also 20%.
İŞ BANKASI HAD MADE A 20% INTERIM INCREASE
In terms of salaries, a notable step came from İş Bankası. Under the collective labor agreement signed between the bank and the BASİSEN Union, the salary increase rate for employees in the second half of 2025 has been set at 21%. İş Bankası had also made a 20% increase in employee salaries in the first half of the year.
With the regulations made, significant developments in favor of employees are taking place in terms of both salaries and social benefits in private banks.
