NEW STRATEGIC ARMS REDUCTION TREATY Evaluating the possibility of reinstating the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) between Russia and the US, Peskov emphasized that first, the bilateral relations with the US need to be improved, stating, "It is difficult to think about negotiations regarding strategic stability for now. Because such negotiations require bilateral relations to reach a certain level and mutual trust to be established." Peskov noted that the nuclear arsenals of other countries should also be taken into account in negotiations on arms control with the US.
