U.S. President Donald Trump sent a veiled message to the Kurds in the region against Iran. Trump stated, "If the Kurds want to launch an attack against Iran, they should do so." Responding to this statement, DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan said, "The Kurds are not the armed force of any power. The Kurds have been fighting until today because their rights and laws have been denied and rejected."
The process that began with the attack of the USA and Israel on Iran has turned into a mutual war. Iran responded to the attacks against it by bombing US bases in neighboring countries. While there are concerns that the war in the Middle East may turn into a regional conflict, US President Donald Trump sent an open message to the separatist Kurds in the region on the sixth day of the attacks by the USA and Israel on Iran.
TRUMP GAVE A HINTING MESSAGE
In a statement he made today, Trump said, "If the Kurds want to launch an attack on Iran, let them do it. It would be great if they want to do that," giving a hinting instruction.
"THE KURDS ARE AT THE HEART OF THE CONFLICT"
While the echoes of these words continue, a striking statement came from Tuncer Bakırhan, Co-Chair of the DEM Party. Bakırhan said, "Wars, massacres, and conflicts are ongoing right next to us. The Kurds are right at the heart of the conflict, the Kurdish geography is there. While there was a conflict in Iraq yesterday, the Kurds were on the agenda. While there was a conflict in Syria, the Kurds were on the agenda. Today, the Kurds are also on the agenda in Iran. But this time, they are discussing the Kurds with false narratives. The Kurds are not the armed force of any power. The Kurds have been fighting until today because their rights and laws have been denied and rejected," he said.
"WE MUST BE VIGILANT"
Bakırhan stated, "Even when those hegemonic and imperial powers that are present on the ground today were not there, the Kurds were on the ground. In Iran, the Kurds have been fighting for their language, culture, and status until today. Today, especially during these Nevruz days, the Kurds are fighting to secure their national unity and to obtain their democratic rights and freedoms in every country they are in, and they will continue to do so. Everyone should know very well that what Kirmanşah is, Hevler is the same. What Sulaymaniyah is, Qamishli, Kobani is the same. What Kobani is, Amed, Kars, Siirt is the same. We must be more vigilant than ever. We must closely follow the developments in the Middle East. Today, we are going through a process where our fate is being determined in the Middle East. In this process, we will neither be deceived at the negotiation tables nor will we be the shield of hegemonic and imperial powers, only to be cast aside and forgotten later. I hope this Nevruz will be a Nevruz that brings peace, democracy, freedom, and status to the Kurds living in the Middle East," he said.
