The public bus belonging to Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, driven by Hüdayi K. (26), began to emit smoke from its right rear tire when it arrived at 614th Street in the Küçükkolpınar neighborhood of the Atakum district around 3:30 PM.

DISASTER AVERTED

Noticing the situation in the mirror, Hüdayi K. stopped the bus, evacuated the passengers, and then intervened in the flames with a fire extinguisher. However, the flames quickly engulfed the vehicle. Firefighting teams dispatched to the area upon notification managed to bring the fire under control and extinguish it.

The passengers continued their journey on another bus.
