Akyol, who said, "I didn't know until I experienced this," highlighted how these chemical products, found in every home, can turn into a 'time bomb.'
Dishwasher tablets, which housewives use at least once a day, can sometimes lead to irreversible health problems. A woman named Begüm Akyol shared her terrifying moments on social media after the tablet exploded in her eye while she was operating the dishwasher.
"I CRIED CONSTANTLY, AFRAID I WOULD GO BLIND"
The incident occurred around 00:30 on Friday night. Begüm Akyol stated that while she was trying to place the tablet in the machine, the product suddenly exploded and came into contact with her eye. Akyol described the horror she experienced with the following words:
"I never thought something like this could happen to anyone because I had never experienced it before. First, I experienced vision loss, then a constant stinging and burning sensation in my eye began. I was washed in the emergency room and drops were applied, but I couldn't stop until morning. It hurt so much that I was very upset about going blind and I kept crying."
IT DAMAGED THE CORNEA, BURNED THE VEINS
As a result of the doctor's examination, it was determined that the chemicals in the tablet had damaged the cornea and burned all the veins in the eye.
Wanting to use the power of social media to warn people about this hidden danger, Akyol expressed that she realized this situation is actually much more common than thought and that many people have experienced similar accidents.
