The father of 7-year-old Güney, who suffered a brain hemorrhage after being thrown in a park by two children holding his arms and hands in Samsun, spoke out. The father stated that his son's health is improving and said, "I hope they receive the necessary legal punishment. Those who do not receive this punishment today may turn into future criminals."
A terrible incident occurred on May 22 in a site located on Alaçam Street in the Büyükkolpınar neighborhood of Atakum district in Samsun. Mother G.Y. took her son Güney N. to Ondokuz Mayıs University Medical Faculty Hospital, stating that a football hit him on the head while he was playing on the field. It was determined that Güney had suffered a brain hemorrhage. The police, who initiated an investigation into the incident, reported that in the statements taken from the children living in the site, it was said that two children dropped Güney N. while swinging him on the swing.
IT WAS REVEALED IN REAL CAMERA FOOTAGE
Teams watching the security camera footage determined that K.Ç. (13) and Y.Y.G. (14) held Güney N. by his legs and arms and then threw him to the ground. Y.Y.G. and K.Ç., who were taken into custody, were released by the court with judicial control conditions after being brought to the courthouse. It was learned that Güney's condition was good and he had survived the life-threatening situation. Those moments were captured by the site's security camera.
FORENSIC MEDICINE REPORT PREPARED
Meanwhile, the forensic medicine report stated that K.Ç. and Y.Y.G., who carried out the incident, "showed no signs of mental retardation or psychiatric syndrome, and were able to adequately defend and discuss the alleged act of 'intentional injury,' as well as sufficiently understand its scope and consequences, and their intelligence and mental development were found to be appropriate for their age."
"THEY MAY TURN INTO CRIMINALS IN THE FUTURE"
Burak N. (41), the father of Güney N., stated that the issue started as a game, saying, "The act of older children showing their strength ended badly. We wouldn't have wanted it to be this way. It was already clear that the final outcome of this incident would be bad. On one hand, we are lucky, and on the other hand, we are unlucky. If his arm or leg had been broken, we might have been luckier. It was sad for us that it ended with a brain hemorrhage. The two children were released after their statements were taken. Their parents also have a great responsibility. From what we heard, they are not ignorant people. I hope they receive the necessary punishment legally. Those who do not receive this punishment today may turn into future criminals. This is dangerous. They should face serious consequences," he said.
"BRAIN HEMORRHAGE HAS STOPPED"
Burak N. stated that his son's condition is improving, saying, "The brain hemorrhage has stopped. When it comes to the brain, one needs to be a bit more cautious. The follow-up continues, and he will continue with medication for another 20-25 days. There is also a psychologically traumatic aspect to this incident. We will start addressing that after he returns to normal life. We think he can get through it easily. A report was issued for the other children. A report was issued stating that the children are of an age where they are aware of the consequences of their actions. The process is ongoing," he said.
