According to the inflation rate announced by TÜİK for May, the rent increase rate for June has also been determined. Accordingly, the maximum rent increase rate for residential and commercial properties in June is 45.80%.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the inflation figures for May, which the markets have been eagerly awaiting. According to the data, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in May 2025 was calculated to be 1.53% higher than the previous month, while the annual rate was calculated at 35.41%.

LAST MONTH IT WAS 48.73%

According to the announced data, the rent increase rate for June was also realized at 45.80%. In May, the ceiling rent increase rate for residential and commercial properties was 48.73%.

THE 25% LIMIT HAD BEEN LIFTED

Under normal circumstances, the rent increase rates calculated based on CPI data had been limited to 25% following the implementation introduced by the government.

As of July 2024, this limit has been lifted, and starting from July, tenants renewing their contracts are making rent increases based on CPI. Accordingly, increases are made based on the 12-month average for residential and commercial rents.
