The life of Adile Naşit, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema, is being brought to the screen through the vision of master director Çağan Irmak. The film, titled "Adile," is set to meet the audience with beloved actress Meltem Kaptan portraying Adile Naşit. As the shooting of the BKM production continues at full speed, the first images from the set and the actors' statements have generated great curiosity.
In a statement to the press at the set established at Beykoz Kundura Factory, director Çağan Irmak emphasized that the film is not just a nostalgic memory or a childhood recollection. Irmak said, "We are not making a film about a storyteller, a sweet aunt. We wanted to narrate all the breaking points, turning points, her career extending from theater to cinema, and the depths of her private life within an ethical framework. This film aims to tell the story of the real woman behind a star."
"I WORKED FOR TWO WEEKS"
Meltem Kaptan, who will portray Adile Naşit, shared her preparation process for the role with the following words: "When the script arrived, the character's spirit had to resonate within me first. I was very impressed when I read it; it was a meticulously crafted script, thought out to the smallest detail. Moreover, when I heard that the director was Çağan Irmak, I accepted without hesitation. Then, I watched Adile Naşit's famous scenes countless times and practiced her smile. I worked on breath control for two weeks just for that special smile. Because she was a woman who laughed almost without taking a breath. I tried to capture her voice, posture, and the smiling look in her eyes… It was necessary to reflect her spirit, not just her appearance."
