The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, consisting of representatives from workers, employers, and the government, met for the third time today to determine the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025. During the meeting hosted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, no figures were discussed again. In the meeting chaired by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, the employer delegation was led by TİSK Secretary General Akansel Koç, while the worker delegation was led by TÜRK-İŞ Vice President Ramazan Ağar. MINISTER VEDAT IŞIKHAN'S STATEMENT ON MINIMUM WAGEAfter the third meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan made a noteworthy statement via his social media account. Stating that the work of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission is conducted on the basis of consensus and consultation, Işıkhan said, "In the third meeting we held today, we came together with our worker and employer representatives at our Ministry. In the process of determining the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025, we will both increase the welfare of our employees without letting them fall victim to inflation and protect the competitiveness of our employers." AĞAR: NO FIGURES WERE DISCUSSEDOn the other hand, Ramazan Ağar, Vice President of Türk-İş, who made a statement after the meeting, said, "No figures were brought up in the commission meeting again. We are the side that demands money, so let those who pay the money and our government state a figure so that we can take our stance accordingly. We presented our views and stated the actual inflation. We spoke so that the approximately 8 million minimum wage earners living in this country can meet their needs to some extent. From what we said, a figure is already emerging. I think both a figure and a result will come next week. Our hope is that they bring a wage that the public can accept."
