A forest fire that broke out in the Şarköy district of Tekirdağ and spread to the Gelibolu district of Çanakkale was brought under control on the second day. Meanwhile, volunteer search and rescue teams involved in the firefighting efforts rescued a sheep that was trapped on a farm engulfed in flames and had suffered burns.

In the statement, it was noted that the fire was brought under control as a result of the continuous and intense efforts of the officials, and the following was recorded:

The statement indicated that the struggle elements would remain in the area until the cooling works are completed to prevent the fire from reigniting. Citizens were asked to report any negative situations they detect to the 112 Emergency Call Center, and it was stated, "We will continue the struggle we have shown together to bring the fire under control, to revitalize our forests and nature together in the future."

TEAMS RESCUED A SHEEP TRAPPED IN THE FLAMES
The fire, which was effective over a large area, damaged agricultural lands and forests, as well as livestock farms. A small livestock farm located on the border of Gelibolu and Şarköy was also engulfed in flames. Volunteers from the SAR Search and Rescue Emergency Aid Association, noticing that a sheep was trapped in the facility that was almost completely evacuated before the fire reached it, entered the flames.
Here, the sheep affected by the smoke and with burns on its body was rescued at the last moment by the teams. Team members Kerem Kaptan and Funda Baydilli tried to soothe the pain of the sheep, which was taken to a safe area, by hugging it and did not leave its side for a moment. Funda Baydilli stated that they noticed the sheep at the last moment and immediately took it out of the facility.
Then, Baydilli explained that they tried to calm the sheep with burns on its body and stated that they waited by its side until the teams that would take it arrived. Kerem Kaptan also expressed that he stood guard for minutes by the sheep he noticed was scared, trying to soothe its pain by hugging it. The sheep rescued from the fire area was handed over to the Coast Guard Command teams operating in the region for support purposes for treatment.
