Chilling details have emerged in the murder of Ayşe Tokyaz, whose body was found in a suitcase by the roadside in Eyüpsultan. In the footage, a red vehicle carrying the suitcase containing Tokyaz's lifeless body is seen entering a gas station, and the individuals inside the vehicle are observed purchasing deodorant from the market and spraying it both inside the car and on themselves.
Esra Tokyaz, who applied to the police in Istanbul, reported that her twin sister was missing. The investigation revealed a murder. The police determined that Ayşe Tokyaz (22) had left a house located in Halkalı, Küçükçekmece, and no traces of crime were found during the search of the house. Security camera footage showed that after entering the house, two individuals left with a suitcase and drove away in a red vehicle, prompting the investigation to be deepened.
THEY BOUGHT DEODORANT FROM A FUEL STATION
In the investigations conducted by the Homicide Bureau, the police tracked the red vehicle. With the help of security camera footage, it was observed that the vehicle entered a fuel station in Eyüpsultan, where the individuals inside bought deodorant from the market and sprayed it both inside the vehicle and on themselves.
THE BODY WAS TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER VEHICLE
After a while, it was observed that the suspects parked their vehicle in a side street in Eyüpsultan, locked it, and left. Security camera footage revealed that a white vehicle arrived next to the red car, which had been parked there for about 5 hours, and individuals from the vehicle transferred the body found in the trunk to this car. It was learned that these individuals took the body and disposed of it in a wooded area.
THE SUSPECT USED HIS RIGHT TO "REMAIN SILENT," OTHERS SAID "WE DIDN'T KNOW"
After the identities of the suspects were determined by the Homicide Bureau, 7 suspects, including Cemil Koç, who committed the act, were taken into custody. The suspects were interrogated at the Public Order Branch. It was determined that suspect Cemil Koç claimed to know the deceased Ayşe Tokyaz and her twin sister but chose to exercise his right to remain silent. Other suspects stated that they did not know there was a body in the suitcase they were carrying.
THE TIP CAME FROM THE ACCOMPLICES TWO DAYS LATER
Tokyaz's body was removed from the house on July 11 at 01:30, placed inside a suitcase. The body was later handed over to three individuals for disposal. On July 13, around 02:00, it was found by the roadside in Kemerburgaz. It was learned that the body had been left by the roadside in the suitcase for 2 days, and during this time, the suspects who had taken it were the ones who reported its location to dispose of it.
PAINTED THE HOUSE RED
It was determined that the suspect painted the house red to eliminate traces of blood and then had the apartment caretaker clean the house.
THERE ARE FRACTURES IN THE SKULL AND NOSE
As a result of the examination, it was learned that Ayşe Tokyaz had fractures in her skull and nose, and the cause of death was diagnosed as "brain hemorrhage." However, it was reported that the exact cause of death would be determined after the examination conducted by the Forensic Medicine Institution.
THE EX-GIRLFRIEND OF THE SUSPECT ALSO DIED UNDER SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
Additionally, it was determined that Cemil Koç, the murder suspect, had an ex-girlfriend who also went missing under suspicious circumstances in Diyarbakır. It was learned that Ece Gül Övezova, a citizen of Turkmenistan, fell from the 6th floor of the apartment she lived in 2023, and Cemil Koç was questioned about this incident but was released due to lack of evidence.
SIBLING EXPELLED FROM THE POLICE DUE TO FETÖ
In the investigations, it was learned that Cemil Koç, who was expelled from the police force, had a brother who was also expelled due to a previous FETÖ investigation.
7 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED
After their procedures at the prosecutor's office, the suspects were referred to the Duty Magistrate's Court. Cemil Koç, the ex-police officer who killed Tokyaz and placed her body in a suitcase, was arrested for "premeditated murder," while the other 6 suspects were arrested for "aiding and abetting premeditated murder."
It was reported that Cemil Koç was expelled from the police profession in 2024 for possessing an unlicensed firearm and had a record for "resisting to prevent duty," "threat," "insult," "intentional injury," and "purchasing, possessing, or using drugs or stimulants."
