MHP Diyarbakır Provincial Chairman Miktat Arslan stated in a written statement that he described Bahçeli's call in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) as "historic." Arslan said, "We consider every word that comes out of our Chairman's mouth as an instruction. Like all Turkish nationalists who engage in politics under the roof of MHP, we, as the Diyarbakır organization, draw inspiration from our leader's statements and act accordingly."
THEY DISTRIBUTED 1919 TURKISH FLAGS, VISITED 17 DISTRICTS
Arslan stated that as the first step of the campaign they launched under the name "Kızılelma Diyarbakır," they distributed 1919 Turkish flags in reference to the significance of May 19, 1919, and then met with citizens in 17 districts of Diyarbakır. Expressing that they received positive feedback from the visits, Arslan said, "These reactions reinforced our commitment to our cause. To spread the opinions we received and reach every segment, we carried the messages of 'Terror-Free Turkey' on banners. We hung our banners on the main arteries of the city. We will implement the same practice in all our districts as well."
"CENTURIES-OLD UNITY, ENDLESS BROTHERHOOD" MESSAGE
The MHP Diyarbakır Provincial Chairman emphasized that the process should be regarded not merely as a political discourse but as a guarantee of social unity and peace, concluding his statement as follows: "With this belief, we reiterate: Centuries-old unity, endless brotherhood."
